General Profile!
Dec. 12th, 2017 09:49 amMegaera D'Ashland, Succubus Wizardess. Age Complicated ("I've been 22 for half a century and didn't exist before that"), Abyssal Origin. Defaults to a 5'9", 116-pound form.
Summary
Due to a complicated series of circumstances, Megaera D'Ashland (not her 'true' name, she keeps that a secret) has slowly pivoted from her kind's natural service to evil to being firmly on the side of powerful Celestial forces, out to fix her world's balance which had ritualistically been curved towards evil, motivated at first by naught more than a desire to learn magic.
Take her off-world, though, and where she goes becomes a more open question.
Power level also flexible based on when in her story she is pulled from.
Personality
Once, Megaera (as normal for her kind) had found a certain joy in luring mortals to ruin, and sacrificing them to her dark patrons; now, however, the idea of serving any cause darker than occasionally letting herself be a little selfish or lightly teasing is almost actively sickening to her.
That said, while she's gone to the side of Good firmly and fiercely, being willing to take great risks to save innocents and do good... Megaera still has elements of the Succubus' nature to her, enjoying looking her best, flaunting it a little, and being quick to use her appearance for an advantage in a situation, even being out-and-out willing to seduce someone if the situation would benefit from it. That said, her intellectual lusts are far stronger than the more carnal sort; amongst friends, it rarely exceeds simply being a little touchy-feely and lightly teasing. She will admit, elaborate and sensual outfits do still interest her, though... As can be evidenced by elements of her own outfit choices.
Notably, Megaera was already unusual among Succubi even before the series of incidents that would send her down the path of Good; from her very origin, she'd been strongly interested in arcane magic and understanding the mystic building-blocks of the universe. This nerd streak still persists, and can result in shiny magic artifacts, tomes, or phenomona completely distracting her for hours on end given the chance. For some time, she took advantage of her telepathic powers to develop knowledge in the abstract…. With the side effect that there are still concepts she completely forgets the proper words for.
Powers
The Forces of Good - a set of good-aligned gods who have been slowly pushed into a corner by the shift in power of the world - have blessed a small number of champions, Megaera included, with an enhanced ability to develop skillsets. In other words: Supergestalt, leveling in several classes at once. (She's specifically from a Pathfinder-rules setting.)
This results in the power array getting pretty absurd pretty fast, but two particulars stick out as her 'core' sets she actually uses in RP:
* She's a Succubus, demon of lust and seduction and blah blah blah. Besides being unaging and being able to take any humanoid form she pleases, Megaera has the ability to charm people into following her advice, fly if her form includes wings, fight in melee by hardening her hands into claws, teleport to known locations, and hide in the ethereal plane. However, her body inherently registers as both Chaotic and Evil, in opposition to her individual nature. (In cross-fandom circumstances with Tales of Zestiria characters, headcanon is she registers as being a Hellion or similar, with only slight aura differences that let her be verified as something different.)
* She's a Wizard and a Spellburst Savant, capable of casting a wide array of arcane magic and manipulating the details of the cast on-the-fly in various combinations. Her biggest limit here is she has to pick the spells she's using that day ahead of time, other than a small array of always-known cantrips and Savant-specific tricks known as Fundamentals.
Other class sets can be added based on circumstance. If sending her to a game, her exact full set will be defined.
